Feedback on 2007 season, ideas for 2008

Dear WJCC parent and player,

It is with a great deal of excitement that the Committee writes to you. As you may be aware, the last couple of years have been extremely exciting for this cricket club; our numbers have grown to over 250 young players, we have money in the bank and the Committee is utilizing the expertise of more and more parents. This bodes well for the future, but we need your input now for the new season is just about on us.

To help ensure the WJCC continues to remain strong and viable the Committee decided to take stock of where the Club is now, where we want to be in the future and importantly how to get there: in the business world this is referred to as "Strategic Planning". To gain the best result from the process it was decided to involve an outside consultant - Brent Armstrong, and secondly, to make it easy for both Committee members and parents to have input into the process. The culmination of the process is the development of an Action Plan which will outline a list of strategies to be performed over the next three years, or in some cases longer.  I would like to thank our Treasurer, Ivor North, for his help in running this process.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

The help expedite the process we urge you to have your responses to this survey  doc survey_form 30.00 Kb back to the Committee no latter that 25 July (after the school holidays)- please email them to president@wjcc.org.au or fax it back to 9259 1103. Once the information is received it will be collated into a list with items, given priority and circulated back to the parent group.

As mentioned above, it is the desire of the Committee to generate as much input from the parent group as possible. We appreciate that people are busy and life throws its challenges at us, but please remember the Committee members are all volunteers and face similar issues to you. If we all help each out, more will be achieved and it will make everyone's job easier.

Attachment 1 shows the results of the SWOT analysis developed during the first sessiondoc swot_analysis 39.50 Kb, whilst attachment 2 lists the creative ideas aimed at solving some of the issues raised during the SWOT doc ideas_for_action 41.50 Kb.

The committee urges you ALL to spend some quality time considering the future of the Club and how you can best help not just the club but importantly the kids.

Thanking you in anticipation.
