The WACA has asked the WJCC to send you this information regarding the
new Ford Backyard Cricket Competition. Ford and Cricket Australia are offering Clubs, such as the WJCC, $40 for every team registered via the WJCC. All you have to do is:
1. Go to the website http://www.fordbsc.com.au/ and register your team. Each team must consist of 6 people, with 2 of these being females. The cost to enter each team is $50, and $40 of this comes back to WJCC.

2. Let the WJCC know you have registered for this competition by emailing president@wjcc.org.au.

3. WJCC will register our interest in hosting a Backyard Cricket day before October 30, 2008.

4. We will organise a day in late November to run a Backyard Cricket Day, IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST (ie 8 teams minimum).

This presents a great opportunity for us to bring girls and women into our Club and also to promote a great family day. But you will need to get moving pretty quickly to register a team.

The following rules must apply to each Match unless otherwise advised by

Cricket Australia:

(i) one hand, one bounce or on the full for a catch;

(ii) cannot go out first ball;

(iii) tippety run i.e. must run when the ball is hit;

(iv) all overs bowled from one end;

(v) six legal deliveries per over;

(vi) ten (10) overs per team. Four (4) players to bowl two (2) overs each.

Maximum of 2 overs per bowler;

(vii) no LBW.
