Willetton Junior Cricket Club - Season – 2024 / 25 Registration Policy
Welcome to the Willetton Junior Cricket Club! We’re excited to have you join our cricket family. This document outlines the registration policies for the WJCC.
Registration Period:
- Season registrations typically open in July and close in September each year.
- Late registrations may be accepted on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability.
Eligibility:
- Registrations are open to all junior players both existing and new.
- Players are generally placed in age-appropriate teams, based on their date of birth.
- The club reserves the right to adjust age groups based on player numbers and skill levels (One Year up from their correct age group).

Registration Process:
- Registrations are completed online via PlayHQ website.
- During registration, you will be required to:
- Create an account (if new) or log in to your existing account.
- Provide player information, including name, date of birth, contact details, and emergency contact information.
- Select the desired age group/program (if applicable).
- Agree to the club's registration policies and code of conduct.
- Pay the registration fee (see Fees section below).
Fees:
- The registration fee covers costs of Ground & Net Fees, Training Equipment, Cost of Match Balls, Insurance Fees, Umpire Fees and one Player shirt. (Only new players will receive a free Hat).
- Families with 3 children or more might be eligible for discounts. Please reach out to Registrar at registrar@wjcc.org.au for more details.
Payment:
- Online payment is the only option of payment (credit / debit card) during the registration process.
- Alternative payment arrangements may be considered in exceptional circumstances. Please contact the club registrar for inquiries.
Refunds:
- Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the club registrar at Registrar@wjcc.org.au.
- Final decision for Refunds rests with the Club. Anyone requesting a refund for not allowing to play up more than one year of his/her age eligibility WILL NOT be refunded.
- No Refund will be provided 2 weeks after the season started.
Insurance:
- All registered players are covered by Cricket Australia's participant insurance scheme.
- Details regarding coverage can be found on the Cricket Australia website https://au.marsh.com/sport/cricket-australia.html.
Additional Information:
- Uniform details and collection procedures will be communicated to registered players.
- Players are encouraged to attend training sessions as scheduled by their coaches.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring players arrive at games on time and appropriately attired.
- Sportsmanship and fair play are core values of the WJCC. Please refer to the club's code of conduct for expectations regarding player and parent/guardian behaviour.
Parent Participation Policy
Willetton Community Cricket Club is committed to fostering a fun and positive environment for all young players. We believe parental involvement is crucial to achieving this goal. This policy outlines the expectations for parents participating in our community cricket club.
- Sportsmanship and Positive Support:
We encourage a supportive and encouraging environments for all players, regardless of skill level. Parents are expected to model good sportsmanship by:
- Applauding good plays by all teams.
- Refraining from yelling at players, coaches, or umpires.
- Respecting the decisions of the umpires.
- Focusing on their child's effort and enjoyment, rather than wins or losses.
- Commitment to Volunteering:
The club relies on volunteer parents to function effectively. As a condition of participation, all families are required to contribute in volunteer work per season. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Scoring duties during games (training will be provided).
- Assisting with setting up and packing down equipment and grounds.
- Supervision of Children:
For the safety and well-being of all children, it is mandatory that a parent or designated guardian remains on-site for the entirety of their child’s training session or match. Under no circumstances should children of age group U10 – U14 be left unattended at the ground.
- Active Participation in Matches:
We encourage parents to actively engage with their child’s cricket experience by:
- Cheering for their child and all players in a positive manner.
- Offering constructive feedback and encouragement after the game (avoid coaching during matches).
- Communication:
Open communication is essential. Parents are encouraged to direct any questions or concerns to the coaches, team managers, or club committee members.
Working Together for a Positive Cricket Experience:
By following these guidelines, parents can play a vital role in creating a fun and rewarding cricket experience for all children involved with the WJCC.
